Oh my goodness friends, there are so many edits I wish I had made to last Saturday’s post before sharing it! I was trying to be all “perfect is the enemy of good” about it, but I think it ended up being a bit ramshackle. So now I’m gonna play some catchup here.

When I started writing that last post, I was mentally chastising myself for having promised that I’d update every week in January. Then, because of how my brain is, I was reminded this weird thing I got to work on a bit when I was on staff at Oxfam Canada. The short version¹ is that Jim Kerr and Martha Wainwright did a new version of Simple Minds’ Promised You A Miracle — but about … maternal mortality?

Everyone involved meant well I’m sure so that’s all I’ll say about it. But being back at Oxfam last month (though it was Oxfam International this time) made me nostalgic for my days as a staffer.
